Stop It® Pipe Repair System

BoreShield ARO™ GW

Wear Resistance Products

BoreShield ARO™ GW

BoreShield ARO™ GW is a field-applied abrasion resistant outerwrap (ARO) consisting of a unique, heavy duty fiberglass reinforcement and water-activated urethane resin, designed for impact and abrasion resistance when installed over pipeline girth welds.

The ARO GW System provides protection from external wear, abrasion, and impact events. The composite system includes a custom weave, heavy fiberglass tape, precoated with a toughened, water-activated urethane resin. The high bond strength provides resistance to shear if pipe is to be pulled and the unique weave of the reinforcement tape enables spiral applications for ease of installation.

BoreShield ARO™ GW is supplied at 10” widths in kit sizes designed specifically for pipe diameters ranging from 4”-42”, providing an optimized use of materials and easy of application.

Attributes

  • Diameter specific kits optimize efficient use of materials and cost
  • Excellent abrasion, impact, and wear resistance
  • Installed over tapes and coatings to protect weld seams
  • Superior toughness and resistance to environmental degradation
  • Strong adhesion to pipe surfaces
  • Water-activated urethane resin system fully cures to an inert fully encasing matrix
  • Spiral applications provide simple pathways to targeted thickness
  • Installed with no hot work, regardless of weather conditions, pipe orientation, or local geometries
